Seattle: Haritalika Teej was celebrated with traditional fervour on Sunday. Many women observed fast. ‘Jagran’ and community events were organized at temples. ‘Haritalika Teej’ is celebrated during Shukla Paksha on the third day of Bhadrapada month. It comes one month after Hariyali Teej. The festival is generally celebrated a day before Ganesh Chaturthi. Women worshipped Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The devotees sought blessings for marital bliss. Fast started early in the morning on Sunday with the consumption of ‘sutpheni’. It would continue till sunrise on Monday. News (c) Lalit Katel.
